LEWES, England—A signed catalog of risque sketches that
John Lennon drew for
Yoko Ono sold for €31,000 ($48,600) at an auction at
Gorringes auction house in East Sussex yesterday, the
Mirror reports. Lennon signed the catalog for journalist
Sandra Shevey when she interviewed him and Ono in 1972. The drawings were a gift to Ono to celebrate the couple's wedding and mark the beginning of their "bed-in" protest for world peace. They were shown in a 1970 exhibition, "Bag One," but were seized by London police due to their erotic nature. British antiques dealer
Tony Barnes purchased the catalog.
