Gormley and Chipperfield Open Architecture for Subjective Experience

KIVIK, Sweden—Artist Antony Gormley and architect David Chipperfield have teamed up to create a project that bridges their respective fields, reports the Guardian. The result, Architecture for Subjective Experience, is a pavilion made of 600 tons of concrete and comprising three interlocking spaces: a "cave," a "stage," and a "tower." Each area offers a different way of experiencing the building's surroundings, and only one person may enter at a time. "There was a two-hour queue to get in on Sunday when it opened," said the curator and director of the project, Sune Nordgren. "But it isn't good for those with phobias — if you have vertigo, you'd definitely find it challenging."
